Gareth Benson is a qualified lawyer with the Law Institute of Victoria, admitted to the Supreme Court of Victoria in 2003 Gareth commenced his articles with boutique media entertainment practice Hebert Geer and Rundle (now Thomson Geers) and for Bradley Allen lawyers in Canberra, Australia’s national capital.

He has also held Intellectual Property and Business Affairs roles for CSIRO, SBS Television and Australian Centre for the Moving Image in Melbourne. Gareth has been long committed to servicing the needs or Australian creative, scientific and innovation industries.

A member of Professional Speakers Australia (PSA) Gareth speaks on issues relating to the Future of Employment and The Future of Work. He is also a innovation strategist and a media entrepreneur. He lectures frequently in Higher Education and Vocational Colleges around Australia.

Gareth found IP ASSIST in 2010 to help service commercial business and assist Melbourne’s start up ecosystem. In 2018 he expanded his service offerings to Sydney and Brisbane with his Team.
